ANCLOTE KEY - CAMP OR DAY TRIP

As a group we will be motored out to the primitive camping site on Anclote Key to spend a day and a night on this wonderful island. Kayaks will be availble to paddle around the island, miles of beautiful beach to walk and swim. Great photo opportunities for birding and shelling and fishing. You can even take the boardwalk and check out the old lighthouse!

* This event pending weather conditions and will be rescheduled if must be cancelled due to weather.

All camping equipment provided. Three meals prepared and kayak equipment.
Saltwater fishing license required to fish (fishing equipment and bait provided as needed).

If you are just looking for a day trip we will pick you up Saturday at Anclote public boat ramp and shuttle you out to the island for a day of island fun! Bring a picnic lunch and spend the day on the beach with family and friends. $20.00 each - if you want to kayak around the island $35.00 will include kayak rental - all reservations must be pre-paid!

BLUE SPRING STATE PARK

Blue Spring is located west of Orange City. Take U.S. 17/92 to Orange City, go west two miles on French Avenue to the entrance.

The trip is $35.00 per person - includes kayak rental and all safety equipment. There will be an additional $6.00 per car fee if we launch in the park.

HIDDEN JEWEL PADDLE - STEINHATCHEE, FL

This fairly easy paddle will take you up a nearly undisturbed river in a very remote area. Bring a bag lunch and if we finish early we will paddle around the salt marshes a bit. Location is near Steinhatchee and Jena Fl. We do not want to disclose the location as it is best for the wild residents on the river to not be over-whelmed by 2 legged intruders. We are limiting this trip to 10 persons only and this will be the only trip this year to location. If you want to see a truely undisturbed Florida - this trip is for you!

$55.00 per person includes kayak rental, guides and all safety equipment.

HILLSBOROUGH RIVER

This is more for those who have paddled before and have some experience as there are alligators in this river. We only take this trip in the cooler months when the alligators are less active and we do have canoes available as well as kayaks for this trip. You will be guided though some beautiful, remote scenic areas that can only be seen from the river!

This trip is $45.00 per person includes guided trip down the river, kayak and all safety equipment and shuttle back to vehicles. * Note* We do not suggest this trip for young children as they may spook and tip the vessel when seeing the alligators.

WEEDON ISLAND
1800 Weedon Dr NE, St Petersburg, FL 33702

We will start the day at 8:30 a.m. with a introduction to kayaking safety briefing. We will then head into water for for safety and paddling instructions with three of our trained instructors. We will paddle the island trails and learn the basic paddling strokes, safe boating rules and help each participant learn these skills. After this we will take a break from kayaking and have snacks and water under one of the shaded areas. After the break we will walk over to a fishing place and learn how to cast out your fishing pole and see what we catch. We will try and identify the fish and anything else that we find out along the trails. After fishing will take a lunch break and then we can take a hike on the marked trails and look at all wildlife along the way. The hike is about 1 mile and we will also have the opportunity to visit the preserve's culture and natural history center. We will end the day with one more paddle out on the trails for the remaining time. The day will end around 2:00 p.m., so we are not in the heat of the day.

This trip is for ages 8 and up, parents are welcome to join and are encouraged to stay and play for the day. Children under the age of 8 can particapate as long as the parent stay and particapate with them. We would recommend that the age of 5 be the youngest for the trips. We have tandom kayaks and canoes for parents if needed.

Cost of this is $35.00 per person. This has to be reserved and paid in advance do to group size and park rules.

We are limiting the classes to 10 for safety and to keep the instructor to child ratio to three or less. We can accommodate larger groups, but prior arrangements need to be made with Robin at Good Time Kayaking.

  • lunch and snacks
  • suntan lotion
  • hat
  • sun glasses
  • refillable water container (water will be provided)
  • camp chair

Good Time Kayaking will provide the kayaks, personal floatation devices, paddles, fishing poles, bait, water and other drinks.

Please take my cell number (Robin, (813) 446-7818) with you in case you get lost or cannot locate us upon arriving to the park. We will post signs but you can easily find us at the Canoe Launch – you will find maps at the information kiosks at park entrance.

Then follow signs to canoe launch – we will be picnicking there for the day. Upon arrival you will need to sign a liability release before participating. As with all outdoor activities there is an assumed risk. We do suggest that you do not walk around barefoot and be aware of your surroundings at all times.

Your lead guides/instructor for the day will be Robin Hamm and assistant volunteer guides Josh Hamm and Ronnie Ward.

WEEKI WACHEE TO ROGERS PARK
Meeting and launching from:
6131 Commercial Way, Spring Hill, FL 34606
Launch at 9:30 a.m., Return 2:00 p.m.

We will have a safely briefing and basic instructions before we head down to the river and paddle the 6 miles down to Rogers Park. We will stop along the way for snacks and lunch breaks, so bring small cooler to carry you food. This paddle is all down river and is great for beginner paddlers. We will end out trip at Rogers Park 7244 Shoal Line Blvd., Spring Hill, FL 34607. This is where you will need to be picked up at unless prior arrangements are made with Robin at Good Time Kayaking. We are able to bring paddlers back to starting point at Weeki Wachee State Park if needed.
